1 vs 100 On ABS-CBN
Last Monday, I saw a glossy television ad talking about the power of “100″ people, and there was a prompt to text your name, etc. using the keyword “MOB”. Then I remembered, there was an Endemol show in the US called “1 vs 100″, a quiz show where a single person tries to eliminate all 100 people called “The Mob”, by answering questions correctly, and hoping that most of “The Mob” gets it wrong.
Below is one of the most heartbreaking episodes I saw in YouTube for 1 vs. 100:
This will be another big hit for ABS-CBN.
Shows That I Watch: The Daily Show and Wowowee
Ooooh-Wee!
Recently, I had these “attacks” of “Down Syndrome” (I’m always feeling down), and the only way for me to cheer up, was, well, watch TV Shows. This weekend, I even watched Wowowee, and it was all worth it! Seeing Valerie Concepcion sing her lungs out to the tune of “Iyugyog Mo” was really entertaining. She somehow resembles Kristin Kreuk of Smallville, and I really like her cheekbone dimples. She never looked cuter, but at the same time, sexier, than I saw her in Encantadia and Fantastic Man. I dunno, I guess I’m developing a crush on her (blushes).

As for watching Eat Bulaga! I noticed that they adopted Wowowee’s format of singing with the crowd, and getting alms from the rich Filipino migrants from different countries. It sure is a sign that Bulaga’s format is aging, and they tend to copy the other show’s presentations just to keep up with the ratings (similar to the case when they copied MTB’s format).
I dunno, even if Wowowee doesn’t have that much segments in it, I still watch it. It’s funny, though cheaply executed…
Daily Dose
Which leads me to watching another popular show. I started watching “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” last year, when we had cable (we terminated it for cost-cutting reasons, whatever that is). Good thing Comedy Central’s site presents all recent “newscasts” of the show in their site, much like YouTube with ads. This is ridiculing the Bush Administration at its finest, and you can never find anything like that even in CNN or FOX News (Well, what do you guys expect? They’re cowards.)!

Last week, I was surprised to see this “Resident Senior Expert”, and I thought to myself, “I think I saw this guy somewhere.” He was discussing stuff about fashion and politicians in a very “expertly” way. If not for the audiences laughing, and the mention of Hillary Clinton’s cleavage, you would think it really is some expert note about the US Presidential candidates. Then it occurred to me that the guy was none other than “PC Guy” from the “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” Apple campaign. I literally bumped my head to my desk lamp when I realized that.
Not to mention it has won Emmys and even a Peabody! I don’t even know why you’re still reading this. Go watch it right now!
