Carbs Do Give You Energy!
Jolo recently sent me a link about batteries made of biochemicals, like carbohydrates (sugar), amino acids (building blocks of protein), and enzymes (helps convert these complex / big-ass molecules into a bunch of small particles that could enter our cell membranes).
SONY ‘BIO-BATTERY’ RUNS ENTIRELY ON SUGAR
The bad news is it’s like carrying a car battery for your walkman. It’s almost 4 centimeters on all dimensions (it’s cubical, basically), but somehow strong enough to power a walkman.
Well, it’s not that I don’t really expect these guys to rule digital devices in the near future. I mean the idea of asking your neighbor for sugar to power your iPod alone is pretty neat. And you don’t have to plug these things to your outlet, so it’s green and economical (no more charging times, and sugar is very cheap). I still buy the “carbon paper-like” battery I posted before.
